EMBiz: How To Humanize Your Brand

There's a lot of talk right now about AI and how that's going to impact pretty much every industry that you know and love. But I think it's just as important for us to talk about how to keep our brands humanized because ultimately people buy from people. So here's a couple of tips to understand how even in this wild and wonderful new world of AI, we can keep our brands ultimately really human.
Personalize Your Brand
Number one is personalization. Make sure that you're talking to an individual. For example, if you're sending a newsletter, use a person's first name or a piece of data that you've collected to at least make it feel like it's personalized. Now that is one of the beautiful things about AI and all of the tools that we have is that we can be more personal and personalized on pretty much every channel that we're on.
Tell Your Story
Tell your brand story. Obviously we're marketers. This is something that we feel is so critical to breaking through the noise. Ultimately, that's what really great humanized brands do. Make sure that narrative storytelling is inherently part of the conversation is critically important.
Engage with Your Audience
You have to engage with your audience. This is key on social media platforms because you want to make sure it's not just a one-way conversation. You want to engage with other humans on other channels to make sure that you are not just throwing your messaging into the void.
Establish Your Brand Voice
The next one is about establishing your brand voice. This is really unique to personalization because. Or humanization, I should say, because every human is different. That's the beauty of our DNA. Right? My voice might be a little bit more irreverent and playful and fun, hopefully, than someone in more of a B2B conversation around things like financials or investing, et cetera.
Share Your Values
The final piece to making sure that your brand feels more humanized is sharing your values. So not unlike and should be integrated into the storytelling piece and establishing your brand voice, but having clear shared values so that when you are connecting with someone, even if it's through a camera, they can really feel and touch and like get a sense of who you are and who your company is as an individual, as a human.
Ultimately, people buy from people. So make sure that your brand is humanized. So the people part shines through.
