How Women Avoid Being Left Behind in Web 3.0
Changing the Narrative
Hi there, Laurel Mintz here with Elevate My Brand. I want to talk to you again about Web 3.0 and how as a woman, you have to make sure you’re not getting left behind. Now historically, the narrative has been that Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 were really driven by a lot by the pale male and stale C-suite categories. And that means that from a build wealth standpoint, women were also left behind.
We are now seeing a very similar narrative happen in Web 3.0 because, I’m sure you’ve heard that adage that if a woman is going out for a job versus a man, the woman has to have like 99% of the skill set whereas the man has to have 77% right.
Learn and get involved
It’s about having the confidence to go out and educate yourself and learn about something that you don’t necessarily know everything about. And that’s what I really want this conversation takeaway to be. Web 3.0 is still in such a nascent stage that nobody really knows what it’s going to look like and how it’s going to impact the web. But it is going to make a lot of millionaires and billionaires out there.
So it’s really important as women to go out there and educate ourselves on what it is and what is in the market possibility-wise in terms of Web 3.0. Get involved, and try to buy your first NFT. It’s not easy, but it’s so worth it to understand the process. And I felt the same way about cryptocurrency. Now that’s a whole another conversation that we’ll get into another time, but more than anything it’s about educating yourself, getting involved in the conversation so that we have a seat at the table when Web 3.0 really takes off so that we can create our own companies and create long-term wealth as women in the web.
