Originally started as a record label, Olivia evolved into the undisputed #1 travel service for lesbian and LGBTQ+ women. Its storied history in entertainment has included partnerships with legendary performers, speakers and special guests such as Maya Angelou, Fortune Feimster, KT Tunstall and Wanda Sykes. Their challenge was to refresh their messaging to reach a younger audience—without alienating the Olivians in their current community.

EMB was hand-selected to excel at this project after the Olivia leadership saw us in an article about woman-owned branding agencies. So, our team of women and "queerdos" led Olivia Travel through our proven Discovery process and conducted a deep-dive audit of their market. (Honestly, there aren’t any real competitors; no one does what Olivia does like Olivia does it!) Then, we ideated several creative campaigns. After consulting their marketing team on two parallel surveys, we leveraged their additional audience insights to refine our concepts into a final deliverable doc complete with sample content and detailed stylistic guidelines.

Because we’re extra, we also delivered a wrap-up report with marketing recommendations beyond our initial engagement. We loved working with the Olivia team!
